In this role, I update L.L.Bean’s product database using MediaBank (a digital asset management system), Shotflow, and Microsoft Power Apps. In preparation for photography shoots, I work with art directors to ensure that their visions are recorded properly in MediaBank and executed smoothly on studio/location shoots. On set, I keep track of product changes and organize products and props to ensure that the photo shoot stays on schedule.
During my time as an intern, I worked on a variety of projects from photographing L.L.Bean’s participation in the Trek Across Maine to writing code within MediaBank, a digital asset management system. On photoshoots, art directors and crew reference a pdf that contains information on the products used in each shot and styling notes. I met with the photo production team and redesigned this dynamically-generated pdf based on their feedback using XML and XSLT. Additionally, I collaborated with marketing and creative interns on a proposal for wholesale expansion based on our research and presented our findings to L.L.Bean’s marketing department. I also worked with HR and marketing interns to redesign L.L.Bean’s Intern and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion webpages.
Visit L.L.BeanIthaca College Television (ICTV) is a student-run television station that airs over thirty shows and broadcasts to 26,000 homes. I worked on ICTV's website last semester. My responsibilities included weekly postings of various episodes on WordPress in addition to helping redesign the site. Click the button below to check out ICTV's site. I have also worked on the ICTV show Sketch Me If You Can! for six semesters as a camera, clipstore, lighting, and teleprompter operator.
Visit ICTVI worked at Georgetown Pottery from 2014 to 2022. My responsibilities have included making and pouring molds, unloading the kiln, providing customer support, trimming pottery, hooking up clocks and lamps, and helping with shipments. During my time at Georgetown Pottery, I created two original molds. The first was a mug mold I made out of a piece of driftwood I found at Reid State Park. The second was a mold for a clock that is now available in the Georgetown Pottery store.
When Georgetown Pottery's stores were closed in the spring, my brother and I filmed and edited 120 videos of special items that came out of the kiln each week. The videos were released in rounds of 10 and were put on the GP website and Facebook page over the course of three weeks. Nearly every piece of pottery presented was sold within hours after the videos were launched. Additionally, many viewers made custom orders for kiln specials that had already been sold.
Also, my brother and I have been making videos for Georgetown Pottery’s products on amazon throughout the year. Check out our planter video here.
My journey to the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 648 has taught me many things from leadership to lighting a fire with steel wool and a battery. Some of my favorite memories in scouting came from my time as a Troop Guide helping cub scouts transition into the troop. For my eagle project, I cleaned up and added trail markers to a half-mile public trail. Through fundraising and a generous donation from Hammond Lumber, I was able to build 10 bog bridges on muddy areas of the trail. The photo above shows all of the volunteers who helped me accomplish the project.
I have been juggling since I was 10. Three years ago, I set a goal to achieve 150 consecutive throws with five balls. I recently accomplished that goal, but I think it will be a very long time before I try to juggle 6 balls!
